Matouš 4:8-9 8Pak ho Ďábel vzal na velmi vysokou horu a ukázal mu všechna království světa a jejich slávu. 9A řekl mu: “Toto všechno ti dám, jestliže padneš na zem a pokloníš se mi.”
Jesus was victor in the second temptation, and now Satan manifests himself in his true character. But he does not appear as a hideous monster, with cloven feet and bat’s wings. He is a mighty angel, though fallen. He avows himself the leader of rebellion and the god of this world. DA 129.1
DA – Touha věků 129.1 Ježíš z druhého pokušení vyšel vítězně a satan nyní odhaluje svůj skutečný charakter. Nepřichází však jako nějaká příšera s rozdělenými kopyty a netopýřími křídly. Zjevuje se jako mocný, i když padlý, anděl. Přiznává, že je vůdcem vzpoury a bohem tohoto světa. (srv. TV 78.1)
Placing Jesus upon a high mountain, Satan caused the kingdoms of the world, in all their glory, to pass in panoramic view before Him. The sunlight lay on templed cities, marble palaces, fertile fields, and fruit-laden vineyards. The traces of evil were hidden. The eyes of Jesus, so lately greeted by gloom and desolation, now gazed upon a scene of unsurpassed loveliness and prosperity. Then the tempter’s voice was heard: “All this power will I give Thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If Thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be Thine.” DA 129.2
DA – Touha věků 129.2 Postavil Ježíše na vysokou horu a ukázal mu království světa v celé jejich slávě. Slunce ozařovalo města a jejich chrámy, mramorové paláce, úrodná pole a bohaté vinice. Stopy po hříchu zůstaly skryté. Před Ježíšovýma očima, které se dlouho dívaly jen na bezútěšnou poušť, se objevil obraz nebývalého bohatství a krásy. Potom zazněl hlas pokušitele: Lukáš 4,6.7 “6Všechnu tuto pravomoc a jejich slávu dám tobě, protože mně je dána, a komukoli chci, tomu ji dám. 7Jestliže se tedy ty přede mnou pokloníš, všechna bude tvá.” (srv. TV 78.2)
Christ’s mission could be fulfilled only through suffering. Before Him was a life of sorrow, hardship, and conflict, and an ignominious death. He must bear the sins of the whole world. He must endure separation from His Father’s love. Now the tempter offered to yield up the power he had usurped. Christ might deliver Himself from the dreadful future by acknowledging the supremacy of Satan. But to do this was to yield the victory in the great controversy. It was in seeking to exalt himself above the Son of God that Satan had sinned in heaven. Should he prevail now, it would be the triumph of rebellion. DA 129.3
DA – Touha věků 129.3 Kristus mohl své poslání naplnit jen skrze utrpení. Čekal Ho život plný bolesti, těžkostí, bojů a nakonec potupná smrt. Odloučen od Otcovy lásky bude muset nést tíhu hříchů celého světa. A najednou je tu pokušitel, ochotný vzdát se veškeré moci, kterou kdy uchvátil. Stačilo uznat satanovu svrchovanost a Spasitel se mohl vyhnout všem budoucím útrapám. Znamenalo by to však vzdát se vítězství ve velkém sporu. Satan zhřešil v nebi právě tím, že se chtěl vyvýšit nad Božího Syna. Kdyby se mu to nyní podařilo, znamenalo by to vítězství jeho vzpoury. (srv. TV 78.3)
These were real temptations, no pretense. Christ “suffered being tempted” (Hebrews 2:18). Angels of heaven were on the scene on that occasion, and kept the standard uplifted, that Satan should not exceed his bounds and overpower the human nature of Christ…. 1SM 94.2
1SM – Vybraná poselství, 1. svazek 94.2 To nebylo předstírání, byla to skutečná pokušení. Kristus „vytrpěl pokušení“ (Židům 2:18). Po celou dobu tam byli přítomni nebeští andělé, kteří dohlíželi na to, aby satan nepřemohl Kristovu lidskou přirozenost tím, že by překročil stanovené hranice….
… The severity of this conflict no human mind can compass. The welfare of the whole human family and of Christ Himself was at stake. One admission from Christ, one word of concession, and the world would be claimed by Satan as his. 1SM 95.2
1SM – Vybraná poselství, 1. svazek 95.2 … Tvrdost tohoto sporu nedokáže žádná lidská mysl postihnout. V sázce bylo blaho celého lidstva i samotného Krista. Stačilo jediné slovo souhlasu, aby Kristus přistoupil na jediný nárok a satan by si svět definitivně přivlastnil.
Satan charmed the first Adam by his sophistry, just as he charms men and women today, leading them to believe a lie. Adam did not reach above his humanity for divine power. He believed the words of Satan. But the second Adam was not to become the enemy’s bondslave. ST December 3, 1902, par. 6
ST – časopis Znamení doby, 3. prosince 1902, odst. 6 Podobně jako satan svou vychytralostí oklamal prvního Adama, dovede i dnes vábit muže a ženy a vést je k tomu, aby uvěřili lži. Adam nevztáhl svou ruku k nebesům a nechopil se božské síly. Uvěřil satanovým slovům. Druhý Adam se však neměl stát vazalem nepřítele.
The eye of Jesus for a moment rested upon the glory presented before Him; but He turned away and refused to look upon the entrancing spectacle. He would not endanger His steadfast integrity by dallying with the tempter. When Satan solicited homage, Christ’s divine indignation was aroused, and He could no longer tolerate the blasphemous assumption of Satan, or even permit him to remain in His presence. Here Christ exercised His divine authority, and commanded Satan to desist. 1SM 286.2
1SM – Vybraná poselství, 1. svazek 286.2 Ježíš na okamžik pohlédl na předkládanou slávu; avšak odvrátil svůj zrak a odmítl na tu úchvatnou podívanou hledět. Nechtěl ohrozit svou neochvějnou bezúhonnost tím, že by si zahrával s pokušitelem. Když se satan dožadoval poklony, probudilo se v Kristu božské rozhořčení a nemohl již déle snášet satanův rouhavý nárok, ba dokonce mu ani nedovolil zůstat ve své přítomnosti. Zde Kristus uplatnil svou božskou autoritu a přikázal satanovi, aby toho nechal.
Matouš 4:10 Tu mu Ježíš řekl: “Odejdi, Satane. Vždyť je napsáno: „Pánu, svému Bohu, se budeš klanět a jeho jediného uctívat.“”
The hateful presence of Satan was withdrawn. The contest was ended. With immense suffering Christ’s victory in the wilderness was as complete as was the failure of Adam. And for a season He stood freed from the presence of His powerful adversary, and from his legions of angels. 1SM 288.2
1SM – Vybraná poselství, 1. svazek 288.2 Naplněn nenávistí se satan stáhl. Souboj skončil. Kristovo vítězství na poušti vybojované za nesmírného utrpení bylo stejně úplné jako Adamovo selhání. Na určitou dobu byl od přítomnosti svého mocného protivníka a od jeho andělských legií osvobozen.
Satan had questioned whether Jesus was the Son of God. In his summary dismissal he had proof that he could not gainsay. Divinity flashed through suffering humanity. Satan had no power to resist the command. Writhing with humiliation and rage, he was forced to withdraw from the presence of the world’s Redeemer. Christ’s victory was as complete as had been the failure of Adam. DA 130.3
DA – Touha věků 130.3 Satan vyslovil pochybnost o tom, že Ježíš je Božím Synem. V závěrečném vykázání se mu však dostalo nezvratného důkazu. Trpícím lidstvím Krista se mihlo božství. Satan už neměl sílu se tomuto příkazu vzepřít. Zahanbený a plný zloby musel od Spasitele světa odejít. Kristovo vítězství bylo stejně úplné jako Adamův pád. (srv. TV 79.1)
So we may resist temptation, and force Satan to depart from us. Jesus gained the victory through submission and faith in God, and by the apostle He says to us, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.” James 4:7, 8. We cannot save ourselves from the tempter’s power; he has conquered humanity, and when we try to stand in our own strength, we shall become a prey to his devices; but “the name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10. Satan trembles and flees before the weakest soul who finds refuge in that mighty name. DA 130.4
DA – Touha věků 130.4 I my můžeme stejným způsobem odolat pokušení a přimět satana, aby od nás odešel. Ježíš zvítězil tím, že se podřídil Bohu a spolehl se na Něj. Prostřednictvím apoštola nám říká: Jakubův 4,7-8 “7Podřiďte se tedy Bohu. Postavte se proti Ďáblu, a uteče od vás. 8Přibližte se k Bohu, a přiblíží se k vám.” Sami se z pokušitelovy moci nemůžeme osvobodit. Lidstvo zcela ovládl a když se mu pokusíme čelit ve vlastní síle, staneme se obětí jeho svodů. Avšak Přísloví 18,10 “Hospodinovo jméno je pevnou věží, spravedlivý do ní poběží a bude v bezpečí.” Satan se třese a utíká i před tím nejslabším člověkem, který hledá útočiště v tomto mocném jménu. (TV 79.2)
Matouš 4:11 A tehdy ho Ďábel opustil. A hle, andělé přistoupili a sloužili mu.
After the foe had departed, Jesus fell exhausted to the earth, with the pallor of death upon His face. The angels of heaven had watched the conflict, beholding their loved Commander as He passed through inexpressible suffering to make a way of escape for us. He had endured the test, greater than we shall ever be called to endure. The angels now ministered to the Son of God as He lay like one dying. He was strengthened with food, comforted with the message of His Father’s love and the assurance that all heaven triumphed in His victory. Warming to life again, His great heart goes out in sympathy for man, and He goes forth to complete the work He has begun; to rest not until the foe is vanquished, and our fallen race redeemed. DA 131.1
DA – Touha věků 131.1 Když nepřítel odešel, Ježíš padl vyčerpáním na zem bledý až k smrti. Nebeští andělé celý souboj sledovali. Dívali se, jak jejich milovaný Velitel nevýslovně trpí, aby nám vytvořil únikovou cestu. Obstál ve zkoušce mnohem těžší, než jakou kdy budeme muset snášet my. Ležel na zemi a zdálo se, že umírá. Nyní andělé k Božímu Synu přistoupili, aby Mu sloužili. Posilnili Ho pokrmem a potěšili poselstvím o Otcově lásce a ujistili Ho, že se z Jeho vítezství radují celá nebesa. Ježíš znovu získal sílu k životu a Jeho srdce plné lásky k člověku se otevřelo. Odhodlaně odchází dokončit započaté dílo. Odpočine si teprve tehdy, až porazí nepřítele a vykoupí padlé lidstvo. (srv. TV 79.3-4)
Although Satan had failed in his strongest efforts, and most powerful temptations, yet he had not given up all hope that he might, at some future time, be more successful in his efforts. He looked forward to the period of Christ’s ministry, when he should have opportunities to try his power and artifices against Him. Satan laid his plans to blind the understanding of the Jews, God’s chosen people, that they would not discern in Christ the world’s Redeemer. He thought he could fill their hearts with envy, jealousy, and hatred against the Son of God, so that they would not receive Him, but make His life upon earth as bitter as possible. 1SM 289.2
1SM – Vybraná poselství, 1. svazek 289.2 Přestože satan skrze nejsilnější pokušení ve své usilovné snaze neuspěl, nevzdal se naděje, že by někdy v budoucnu mohl být ve svém úsilí úspěšnější. Těšil se na dobu Kristova působení, kdy bude mít příležitosti proti Němu vyzkoušet svou moc a nástrahy. Satan připravoval plány, jak zaslepit chápavost Židů, Božího vyvoleného národa, aby v Kristu nepoznali Vykupitele světa. Domníval se, že by vůči Božímu Synu mohl naplnit jejich srdce závistí, žárlivostí a nenávistí, aby Ho nepřijali, ale život na zemi Mu co nejvíce ztrpčili.
